Sebastien Meunier’s S/S16 collection for Ann Demeulemeester featured black mesh bodysuits and harnesses, collared at the neck and plunged down in a narrow cable to the navel. Fringing daubed with white made a spiky choker detail and was studded over a jacket like a jagged breastplate. Softer elements were the silk overcoats in a monochromatic print that recalled tree bark flowed over the body, and a scarf waistcoat cinched at the waist. There was a dash of acid yellow, white and moss green. Signature to Demeulemeester a strong collection with a fine balance between haute goth, romance and femininity.
